Abstract

The main characteristics of legal acts in the Romano-Germanic legal family are analyzed. Its basis is legal acts that play a major role in regulating social relations. However, modern challenges, in particular the growth of legislation, the need to adapt to European standards and the globalization of the legal space, pose new challenges to this system. The start of a full-scale attack led to the adoption of new and clarification of existing legal documents. Therefore, all of the above determines the need to study the specifics and rethink the main characteristics of legal acts in the Romano-Germanic legal system in view of modern trends.

The purpose of the study is to consider the main characteristics of legal acts in the Romano-Germanic legal system of Ukraine, to outline their features, as well as to analyze their significance for law-making and law enforcement in modern conditions.

The scientific article concludes that legal acts in Ukraine, as part of the Romano-Germanic legal system, are characterized by a written nature, which plays a decisive role in ensuring the consistency, predictability and stability of legal regulation. The consolidation of norms in the form of laws, codes and other legal acts creates the basis for clear and transparent law enforcement, which contributes to the development of society based on the principle of the rule of law. Ukraine, as part of this legal tradition, inherited the strengths of the Romano-Germanic system. In particular, the codification of legislation, the hierarchy of legal acts, and their mandatory publicity provide citizens with access to legal norms and allow the state to function effectively even in difficult challenges, such as military conflict or globalization. At the same time, the written nature of law requires constant work to eliminate its weaknesses. Among them are the delay in adapting legislation to rapid changes in society and the need to improve mechanisms for interpretation and enforcement. This task is especially relevant in the context of Ukraine's integration into the European legal space, which poses the task of adapting Ukrainian legislation to EU standards for legislators. At the current stage, it is important for Ukraine not only to improve existing legislation, but also to actively introduce innovations into the lawmaking process.
