Areas of application of polygraph in conditions of war and martial state in Ukraine

The article examines the areas of application of the polygraph in wartime and martial law in Ukraine. An important problem of modern polygraphology is the identification of new areas of application of the polygraph in wartime, which contributes to the further development of this important area of special knowledge. The large-scale war has made its own adjustments and modern polygraphology requires the delineation of new areas. The purpose of the study is to analyze the areas of application of the polygraph and outline its capabilities in wartime and martial law in Ukraine. The scientific novelty lies not only in the list of areas of application of the polygraph, but also in the comprehensive analysis of the current regulatory legal acts of Ukraine that regulate its use in wartime. At the same time, the materials of the article orient the subjects of use of special polygraphological knowledge regarding the possibilities of using the polygraph in modern conditions.
During the study, a system of scientific knowledge methods was applied, including general scientific analysis, synthesis, deduction, induction; private generalization, modeling; special formal-legal, system-structural, and others. The study provides grounds to assert that in the conditions of a large-scale war and martial law in Ukraine, the scope of application of the polygraph has significantly expanded and has become particularly relevant. The need to counter external and internal threats to national security, increasing requirements for staffing the security and defense sector, as well as ensuring effective investigation of criminal offenses, have led to an increase in the role of polygraph examinations in the activities of state bodies, in the commercial and private spheres.
