Requirements for the text of the publication
Works (scientific articles, reviews of new scientific publications, reports on scientific events) written in Ukrainian, English, and Polish, up to 12 pages inclusive (0.5 printed sheets) are accepted for consideration.
The submitted materials must correspond to the profile of the publication and the current state of legal science. The editorial board does not consider descriptive articles and reviews, materials that are not relevant and outdated in content, and do not contain analytical conclusions.
The maximum possible number of co-authors of one article is 5 people.
MANUSCRIPT STRUCTURE
Manuscript articles should have such elements:
- Section title;
- UDC index;
- ORCID code of the author(s);
- Full name of the author(s) (bold, italic), academic degree, academic title, position (italic) (text aligned to the right);
- Title of the article in Ukrainian (bold, all capital letters);
- Abstract in Ukrainian (minimum 1,500 characters with spaces). If the article is submitted in English, the Ukrainian abstract must contain 1,800 characters with spaces;
- Keywords (at least 5) in English, fully matching the Ukrainian version;
- Author’s surname and initials and the title of the article in English (bold, starting from a new paragraph, regular font);
- Extended abstract in English (minimum 1,800 characters with spaces) (abstract structure: brief statement of relevance; research aim; research methodology; research results);
- Main text of the article (structured according to the requirements, see below);
- List of sources (bibliography) compiled in the order of citations in the text (at least 15 items, of which at least 2/3 must be scientific publications), formatted according to DSTU 8302:2015 «Information and Documentation. Bibliographic Reference. General Provisions and Rules for Compilation». If the sources cited by the author have a DOI, it must be indicated in the reference list. The inclusion of Russian-language sources in the references is not allowed;
- List of sources (References), transliterated into Latin script (recommended service: http://ukrlit.org/transliteratsiia) and simultaneously presented in English according to the international APA style (https://apastyle.apa.org/style-grammar-guidelines/paper-format/reference-list). The translation of the book or article title is added in square brackets. The original language is also indicated, e.g., [in Ukrainian]. For publications that have an official English title, the original English title should be used.
Please keep in mind when writing an extended abstract that it serves as a reference tool (for a library, abstract service), allowing the reader to understand whether or not to read the full text. The English text of the abstract should use terminology specific to foreign special texts. It is necessary avoid use terms that are with a straight «tracing» Ukrainian terms.
STRUCTURE OF THE MAIN TEXT OF THE ARTICLE
The main text of the article should contain the following elements:
- statement of the problem in a general form and its connection with important scientific and practical tasks;
- analysis of recent research and publications in which the solution to this problem has been initiated and upon which the author relies, identification of previously unresolved parts of the general problem to which the article is devoted (with mandatory references to relevant works);
- the aim of the article;
- presentation of the main research material with a full justification of the obtained scientific results;
- conclusions and prospects further scientific research.
Specified elements stand out in manuscripts bold font.
The article should be typed in the Microsoft Word text editor (a .doc file). The margins on all sides should be 20 mm. The font should be Times New Roman, size 14, with 1.5 line spacing.
References to the sources used should be made directly in the text.
The sequential number of the cited source is indicated in square brackets, followed by the specific page number after a comma. Example: [1, p. 25].
Additional requirements for the text of the article:
- each abbreviation in the text must be placed in parentheses after the first mention in the text;
- for all tables and figures, references must be provided in the text of the article, or it must be indicated that it is the author's work;
- all tables must have headings (above the table, numbered, in a separate paragraph of text, without indentation, in bold) and be numbered in the order of references in the text (Table 1);
- Figures must be signed (under the figure, numbered, in a separate paragraph, bold, centered, without indentation; the signature must not be an element of the figure) and numbered in the order of references in the text (Fig. 1). Articles with scanned figures inserted into the text will not be accepted for consideration. Tables and figures must be prepared by the author (co-authors) in accordance with the general requirements and the specific type of graphic information (schemes, diagrams, formulas, etc.);
- one space is left between words;
- distinguish between a dash (–) and a hyphen (-);
- do not separate the degree, minute, second, or percent sign from the previous digit (25°; 30'; 77%);
- a space is placed between initials and surname (M.I. Danchenko), before abbreviations at the end of the list (etc.), before names and surnames (Mrs. Brown, V. Vynnychenko), before geographical names (Cherkasy city, Verbove village, Dniester river);
- if it is necessary to highlight text in quotation marks, it is highlighted with the characters «…»;
- dates are written through dashes with spaces: (1861, 1945 – 1947, (1945 – 1947), 15th – 18th centuries); a slash is used (2015/16 academic year; 2019/20 budget year);
- time and number intervals are written through dashes without spaces (July–August; 23–34)
- there should be no hyphens in the text.
The presentation of the article should be clear and concise, correspond to the scientific style, the text should not contain repetitions. The author of the article is responsible for the accuracy of the presented material, for personal ownership of the material, for the correctness of citing sources and relevant references.
Articles that do not meet the above requirements will not be accepted for consideration.
