The aim of the paper is to draw the attention to the criminal justice in the conditions of the Slovak Republic. Criminal judiciary is a relatively frequently overlooked topic and therefore the status thereof in the legislation of the Slovak Republic needs to be specified. The Code of Criminal Procedure in force in the territory of Slovak Republic has brought about changes in the status, jurisdiction and competence of courts in criminal matters since 2006. Simultaneously, it is necessary to point out to the new institute of Slovak criminal judiciary, the Specialized Criminal Court, which has been in our legislation since 2004 or 2009.References
