Issues of information and analytical research in the field of law enforcement

In the article is proposes the author's definition of the concept of «information-analytical research», defines its features and compares it with related categories of legal sphere.
Information-analytical research is a special form of information-analytical activity, for the first all generic features of information-analytical work (systematization, creative-intellectual character, novelty of results, etc.) are inherent. Among other things, it is advisable to pay attention to certain features inherent in information-analytical research in the activities of law enforcement agencies.
Information-analytical activities and analytical researches are the newest direction of law enforcement agencies functions. The scope of analytics is not only covered by management decisions. The results of analytical research are essential for assessing the state of legality, predicting criminogenicity, finding criminals and instruments of crime. The products of analytical work are increasingly used for strategic planning, increasing the efficiency and optimizing the work of law enforcement agencies, their officials and officials.
Analytical work performed by law enforcement agencies may be carried out only within the limits and in the manner prescribed by law. Therefore, unlike other subjects of analysis, in law enforcement analytical work has special legal features that are covered by the legal status of law enforcement competence.
