Abstract

Currently, the importance of information in the life of society is increasing and the number of people employed in the information industry is growing. It is not just another stage of scientific and technological progress, but a new era in the development of mankind, as it is about the formation of the information society in the context of globalization. Many countries have begun to correlate their national interests with the development of information infrastructure and active information interaction with civil society and the media.

The analysis of the modern legal scientific literature shows that there is no single approach to the concepts of «information» and «information security», and the author demonstrates «narrow» and «broad» approaches to their perception.

The article discusses the development of the concept of «information security» in legal acts, the relationship of its essential content with the basic legislative acts in the field of security, and also summarizes the available knowledge on determining the place of information security in the national security system of Ukraine.
