Advantages and disadvantages of implementation of the Electronic criminal procedure system in the pre-trial investigative bodies of Ukraine

The proposed article reflects the results of a study of the peculiarities of the implementation of the system of electronic criminal proceedings in pre-trial investigation bodies in Ukraine.
At the beginning of 2020, the process of digitalization began in Ukraine. In February 2020, the President of Ukraine together with the team of the Ministry of Digital Transformation presented the mobile application «State and I», abbreviated – «Action». All this indicates the active development of electronic services and digitalization. At present, it is necessary to analyze in more detail the features of electronic criminal proceedings as one of the potential elements of the «State in a smartphone».
The authors note the inevitability of digitalization processes in the field of electronic criminal proceedings. This is facilitated by the global trend of information transfer, public policy and the COVID-19 pandemic. However, there are a number of significant risks that do not allow to transform the criminal process as soon as possible. It is necessary to act prudently in this matter, following the strategy, recommendations of international partners and analysis of data received from employees of relevant competent agencies. Only by following such steps will e-criminal proceedings bring the planned results and improve public confidence in Ukraine's law and order system.
