Institute of the Jury in Ukraine: perspectives and problems of implementation

The introduction of the jury in Ukraine is a very positive step, since the principle of ensuring the participation of the people in the administration of justice is a democratic principle and widespread European practice called «jury trial». But if we analyze the concept of this institute, we can conclude that the jury, which operates on the territory of Ukraine, does not meet the current needs of independent legal proceedings in Ukraine and, from a practical point of view, is not an effective mechanism for the functioning of the jury, does not fulfill the role that it has on it laid down.
