Preventive activities of juvenile crime

The article examines the theoretical and practical aspects of the implementation of preventive activities of minors. The general directions of prevention of juvenile delinquency are identified and described, including: study of the problems of occurrence of delinquency among juveniles; development of various programs and formation of a policy to combat juvenile crime; determination of the duties of competent bodies, organizations and institutions in the field of combating juvenile crime; overcoming negative social phenomena and destructive actions that contribute to the spread of crime; community involvement in crime prevention programs; promotion of cooperation between management bodies and representatives of communities; involvement of young people in the processes of implementation of the juvenile crime prevention policy and others.
The main factors determining the occurrence and existence of juvenile delinquency are determined, in particular, the grounds for the occurrence of social, economic, psychological, legal and educational factors are characterized. Ways to improve the policy of combating juvenile crime are presented, and the elements it should contain are given. The role of various programs and strategies for combating juvenile delinquency is analyzed. The bodies, institutions and organizations entrusted with the task of combating juvenile delinquency have been identified. The tasks and goals of the juvenile prevention units of the National Police of Ukraine were studied. Ways to overcome the economic causes of crime are given. The problem of acquisitive crimes among minors was studied. Legislation on preventing the spread of alcoholism among young people, as well as preventing the spread of narcotic substances, was analyzed. The issue of public participation as a component of combating juvenile delinquency is considered. The role of preventive education of minors and its shortcomings at the level of the family and at the level of educational institutions have been established.
